Center for Medieval and Renaissance StudiesDuke undergraduate students can get a Trinity College major, second major, or minor in Medieval and Renaissance Studies. Our program, supported by close personal advising, is designed with maximum flexibility to promote students’ individualized intellectual pathways. Students take courses across disciplines in four areas of study (Fine Arts, History, Language and Literature, Philosophy and Religion). Many of our majors pursue their own research beyond the classroom by taking independent studies or engaging in honors projects, graduating with distinction. The Medieval and Renaissance Studies Program also offers the primary humanities option in the first-semester Focus Program.
